B+R Architects / STAND acted as executive delivery architects for the 3rd floor Coffee Shop Tom Dixon. Employed by Harrods direct to deliver the tender and construction packages, we had a key role in the co-ordination of the design, collaborating closely with the concept designers and the client team.
“Collaborating with Tom Dixon”
Taking inspiration from classical London club interiors the cafe is exclusively furnished with Tom Dixon’s own furniture and lighting designs. The space is divided into three areas, defined by seating of different styles and colours as well as various lighting designs.
Millinery

Building on our existing reputation for delivery assurance with Harrods, B+R Architects were appointed at concept stage to deliver the new Millinery department. Located in a prominent location on the first floor, the position on the external elevation drove our concept to re-open the existing perimeter glazing adding a dramatic backdrop to the department.
“Concept, visualisation, prototyping and delivery”
Tapping into the full suite of capabilities that our BIM model provided, we were able to demonstrate proof of concept through rendered visualisations and 3D information for prototyping, alongside generating the technical tender and construction packages. Working parametrically allowed for an infinitely adjustable array to be generated so that precise adjustments necessary to suit the huge variety of hat types could be tested prior to shop fit fabrication.

As part of the rolling improvement programme throughout the iconic store, B+R Architects / STAND have been retained as a framework architect for the delivery of the Luxury Collections 2 department across the 1st floor.

Employed direct by Harrods the role included securing building control and listed building approvals. Our experience working in live retail environments was used to lead the co-ordination of detail design on behalf of the client team and to deliver the concept through effective tender and construction packages
Mini Superbrands Concept

B+R executed the design and delivery of the phase 1 refurbishment of the 4th floor children’s wear department. Mini Superbrands is dedicated to leading luxury labels such as Christian Dior, Gucci and Loro Piana. The project involved the complete refurbishment of the room to create a unifying space for the inclusion of 3 mini Superbrand fit outs.

The restrained pallete and quality finishes set the scene for the luxury brands. B+R worked closely with the Harrods team to accommodate the requirements of 3 design houses in a unifying and subtle refurbishment that allows the brands to occupy their own space while fitting in with the overall architecture of the room.
