Headquarters
171 Victoria Street & 1 Carlisle PLace, London

Client:         John Lewis Partnership
Scale:         Undisclosed
Complete:    2004-ongoing

Following the acquisition of 1 Carlisle Place (Partnership House) for John Lewis expansion, B+R Architects were appointed to deliver the refit of the new premises and partial refurbishment of the existing, larger John Lewis Head Quarters at 171 Victoria Street. The scope required full reorganisation at Carlisle Place including new reception areas, staff welfare and all office areas.

“work spaces are attractive and enjoyable to ensure staff satisfaction”

A strategic review of 50% of the existing building, over 14 floors, was concurrently undertaken to rationalise and upgrade the office space made available. Working directly with the John Lewis workplace steering group, the proposals were continuously reviewed to incorporate the ‘Partnership Principles’ and ‘Great Place to Work’ initiatives. A key outcome for the client was ensuring their work spaces are attractive and enjoyable to ensure staff satisfaction and retention.

Our long standing relationship with both clients has led to repeat appointments over their tenure at these premises and continues to date.
