A mixed use, town centre regeneration project in Guildford, Surrey comprising; 48 Residential Unit, 3 Townhouses, a new community centre and a 36,000 sqft commercial property.  The site was provided as a cleared plot through a joint venture with the local authority with stipulated development triggers requiring careful sequencing of the project.

Westpark

Part of the Shannon Free Zone, Westpark is a speculative commercial development that has become the symbol of the success of this area. Appointed at the outset of this ambitious project, B+R Architects have been a key partner in the phased design and delivery of multi-use buildings in the form of a campus for manufacturing, distribution, tech industries and headquarter offices.

Waitrose Midland Goods Shed

Waitrose Midland Goods Shed is a bespoke retail environment and Cookery School that has been tailored to respond to its unique location within the heritage core of the King’s Cross redevelopment area. The interior architecture and new retail concepts are designed to compliment both the monumental character of the Goods Shed and light filigree structure of the adjoining East Handyside Canopy.

Evelyn Grace Academy

B+R Architects were approached by Mace Plus in 2008 to contribute to their team’s proposal to the DCSF for the delivery of the Evelyn Grace Academy, Brixton. Mace Plus had elected to appoint a an executive delivery architect as part of their bid and selected B+R based on our experience and ability to ensure best value and deliver projects on time.

Building on our successful relationship working independently for Waitrose Ltd and John Lewis Partnership, B+R Architects were appointed to deliver the fit out of the joint Waitrose John Lewis at Home, Horsham. The brief called for a holistic review of the working methods of two brands to bring together the functions in both selling and non selling areas to drive spatial efficiencies and maximise operational savings.

Waitrose Dorking

An holistic redevelopment of a whole block within the Dorking town centre conservation area.  B+R Architects successfully gained consent through a complex planning process to replace the out of character 1970s office building and community centre with a contemporary retail development where the scale and mass is responsive to the vernacular grain of the town.

Following the acquisition of 1 Carlisle Place (Partnership House) for John Lewis expansion, B+R Architects were appointed to deliver the refit of the new premises and partial refurbishment of the existing, larger John Lewis Head Quarters at 171 Victoria Street. The scope required full reorganisation at Carlisle Place including new reception areas, staff welfare and all office areas.

Selfridges

B+R Architects are currently working on this iconic retail destination in London’s Oxford Street as part of a framework of consultants.  The scope includes a comprehensive plant and infrastructure replacement programme for all of the Selfridges buildings within this city block.

B+R Architects worked with the client and Local Authority to assess a difficult brown field site with neighbouring listed buildings. The suburban location combined with existing planning policy was used as the basis to draft a development brief for the client to test the viability of the project.
